Booth #37

Our Mission: To help children and youth achieve optimal physical/sexual health and be free from abuse through education and empowerment!

From potty talk to private parts to personal space to privacy to puberty to the pill! Developing optimal sexual health knowledge is something that is so important for children and youth, yet something that is often not adequately addressed.

Teaching our children appropriate safety skills in order to help prevent abuse can also be challenging, because for many of us, it’s something we’d really rather not think about. These topics tend to make us shy away because those conversations can be awkward and embarrassing and/or we just don’t have enough developmentally appropriate information to feel comfortable talking to our children about it.

That’s where I come in! Giving you the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively and appropriately talk to your children about physical/sexual health related topics and to help teach them safety skills, equipping them with tools that will benefit them greatly in many areas of life.

You will feel more confident in your knowledge and in your ability to develop an open dialogue with your child that will continue as they grow. You will come away from the workshops feeling confident and empowered!

Workshops Currently Offered:

FOR PARENTS:

1) BODY-WISE FROM THE BEGINNING (FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN BIRTH-6YRS)

Many parents have questions regarding sexual health and safety skills, especially when it comes to their young children. “Is it ok for my young daughter and her father to bathe together? Is it a wee-wee or a penis? What do I tell my toddler about good/bad touches? How much information is enough? Too much?”

It’s never too early to start preparing for some important discussions around sexual health and safety. With up-to-date information and the right tools, awkward conversations can be opportunities to develop open communication with your child(ren). These on-going conversations will support your child(ren) to develop a strong sense of self and to develop awareness of personal boundaries.

2) BODY-WISE & BEYOND (FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN 7-12 YRS)

Body image, self-esteem, healthy relating, and our self-perceptions can all impact our sexual health. School-age children are often faced with a lot of social and media influenced information that may not be accurate or helpful when it comes to developing optimal sexual health.

With up-to-date information and the right tools, awkward conversations can be opportunities to develop open communication with your child(ren). These on-going conversations will support your child(ren) to develop an awareness of personal boundaries and a strong sense of worth that will last a lifetime.
